Colours are specified by name rather than by hex code anywhere in the generation path, because a model asked to render a hex code will sometimes write the code on the picture instead.

Can I specify my brand colour as a hex code?
The pipeline converts it to a colour name before anything is rendered. A model handed a hex code will sometimes paint the code itself onto the picture, so colours are named rather than coded everywhere in the generation path.
